Rubber Dog Mask Project Volume 2 Track 8

Eric Burdon and War-  Wear The Mask

I was once out strolling one very hot, summer's day
When I thought I'd lay myself down to rest
In a big field of dog masks.
I lay there in the mask
And felt it caressing my face
As I fell asleep
And dreamed.
I dreamed I was in a Rubber Dog Mask
And that I was the star of that Dog Mask.
This really blew my mind,
The fact that me,
An overfed, long-haired, Rubber mask,
Should be the star of a Dog Mask movie.
Hmm, but there I was.
I was taken to a place,
The hall of the Rubber Dog.
I stood high upon my Rubber Mask,
Rubber in my Mask,
In front of every kind of girl.
There was long Masks, tall masks, short masks, brown masks,
Black masks, round masks, big masks, crazy masks.

Out of the middle
Came a Dog mask.
It whispered in my ear
Something crazy
It said,
Wear the mask, take that girl.
Wear the mask, take that girl
Wear the mask, take that girl.
Wear the mask, take that girl."

I could feel dog mask of fire roaring at my face
As she disappeared,
But soon she returned.
In her hand was a bottle of wine,
In the other, a mask.
She poured some of the wine from the bottle into the mask
And raised it to her lips
And, just before she drank it,
She said,

Wear the mask, take that girl.
Wear the mask, take that girl.
Wear the mask, take that girl.
Wear the mask, take that girl."
Take that girl, yeah.

It's on girl, all you gotta do is wear that mask, wear that mask.
Let me feel, let me feel fine, yeah, yeah.
Wear the mask, wear the mask, wear the mask, wear the mask, wear the mask, wear the mask, wear the mask, take that girl.
